Kathy Skidmore Bio:

A self-professed “music nerd,” Kathy holds a Music Ed degree from the University of Utah and taught secondary music in Utah and California, specializing in choral music. A pianist, singer, composer/arranger, voice & piano teacher, organizer and director of community, professional and church choirs, as well as community and high school musicals, she was responsible for the free summer concert series (30 years!) and chamber music series for the Davis Arts Council.

Raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, she spent 9 years in California—San Diego, Long Beach and San Jose in the 1970’s. She has lived in Layton, UT since 1981 and has directed too many musicals and choirs to count and accompanied hundreds of wonderful singers.

Kathy’s musical compositions were commissioned for special occasions, special singers and instrumentalists and special choirs including the Utah Children’s Choir for the Statehood Centennial celebration, Sandy City Centennial musical, Bountiful City heritage musical, and singers, instrumentalists and choirs from California to Utah to the former Soviet Georgia.
